            TURQUOISE CHRISTMAS — 22/11/2013

            Hello there!
I guess you’re wondering why I’m writing about Christmas in November! However, we actually only have five and a half weeks ‘till Christmas. (Yikes! Kind of scarey when you think about all that has to be done before the 25th of December).

I just LOVE Christmas….Christmas decorating, Christmas presents, Christmas baking, and FAMILY TIME….

There are so many colours you can use in your decor these days. It doesn’t have to be the traditional RED & GREEN! My choice is using lots of glitter — Gold, Silver, Mercury Glass, Bright Green and Red, even some Black….But the colour I’ve chosen to show you is TURQUOISE…..

Turquoise is such a vibrant colour, and certainly has it’s own WOW FACTOR.

I do have a peacock feather wreath, but that’s really the only piece that is distinctively TURQUOISE….

I leave it up all year.

There are unlimited possibilities out there using turquoise…..

You can bring in a small amount with a beautiful display of vintage glass pine cones in a bowl or on a tray.

Or add throw cushions on your furniture.

Hang simple sequin stockings in a window to catch the light.

Combine textures for a country feel.

Even setting your table with turquoise elements, will bring the colour into your space if you’re concerned you would be over-whelmed with a full-out turquoise Christmas.

Add small amounts of turquoise to your mantel.

This white room is the perfect back-drop for adding a vibrant colour pallett….

Carry your turquoise colour theme throughout the entire room, by wrapping your presents, placing a throw and cushions on the sofa, adorning the fireplace….(I just want to unwrap all those beautiful gifts…)

Use colours on the same side of the colour wheel, (tertiary).

Use colours opposite each other on the colour wheel, (complementary).

I just LOVE the simplicity of the frame painted this beautiful turquoise.

            All I can say is…..MAGNIFICENT!!!!!

Add a string of light-up grapevine balls to your window, or above a mirror.

Perch an amazing feathered peacock atop a bowl of silver baubles.

Wrap a simple turquoise ribbon on your packages,

Make simple name tags with a turquoise edge. (These are actually TREE TAGS, but the same principal would apply for name tags).

Lay out a truly “SPLENDISHOUS” sweet table for your guests.

May you have a totally wonderful HOLIDAY SEASON with FAMILY and FRIENDS…….

(All the images were uploaded from GOOGLE……with the exception of my peacock wreath).

            Until next time…….Judy
