Re-Vamping A Thrift Store Find

Hello everybody!  Hope this finds you well?  Yup!  It’s snowing again. Hopefully not going to be a huge quantity.

I just love rummaging through thrift and second-hand shops, for anything that catches my eye and just jumps at me, saying “Take me home!”   It might be quite ugly, and not to my taste at all when I see it, but I quickly envision its potential.  That could mean just painting it a different colour, or adding a shelf, or taking something off it. This treasure that I just found for $5.00, is a china side table/stool.

I think it’s quite ugly the way it is, but knew it wouldn’t take much to revitalise it with some paint and a brush……(Sorry it’s a bit shadowed.  I took the picture out in the garage just before painting the stool).

I had a soft turquoise colour left over from painting my master bedroom….(Berh #610-3C  ”Rivers Edge”).

Unfortunately, there isn’t room for it in the bedroom, so it will have a new home in our family room……

Now, I just have to decide exactly where I want to put it in the room…..It works best as a side table for the bench…

I totally love the colour, and will be able to take it out on the back deck, (if needed), in the summer, as extra seating, or as an extra table surface, plus I really, really love the fact that it was $5.00.

The metal vase on the floor infront of the fire place, is the same shade of turquoise, but I purchased a pair of them as they are…

So, if you see something, but are afraid to buy it because of how it’s finished, think beyond its current appearance, it can be given a make-over.  Painting something is the easiest way to change it up!  Speak to a customer service person in the store where you get your paint if you are not sure about products, or the application you want it for.

Have a great week!    Until next time, Judy.
