Well, hello everyone! Are you ready for Christmas? We still have to get our tree. I have two small ones already, but we always have a real tree in our basement family room. I’m hoping my husband and I will pick it up on Friday. (This is still what the ground looks like outside. Not very Chrismassy for a Canadian region! I really want it to snow on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, then it can go away…)
I actually have bulbs coming up…..
My question is……if they come up now, and then we get snow, will they come up again in the spring, or will I have to wait a year?????
THE BLACK URN above, was given to me by a friend about a year ago, but it didn’t look like it does now….
The poor thing was dull and the base was broken. but I used it anyway last Christmas, as is, for a Christmas display on my front path. To make it stand properly, I burried the bottom of the base right in the dirt and filled the belly of the urn with bricks to weight it down. (It worked fine, but this year I decided to give it a proper repair and a new coat of paint).
My dilemma was…How do I repair the base????? “It’s All About The Base! ‘Bout The Base! ‘Bout The Base”……
Leaving a home show that I had participated in at a garden center, I spied a base broken off another urn….
The garden center did charge me $10.00 for it, but I figured it was O.K. if it would fix mine. Now, the trick was to get the two pieces together permanently. I ended up using a two-part appoxy…
I did cheat a bit by also using “Gorilla Tape” too.
I gave the urn a couple of coats of spray paint….and now it has been transformed “To Shiny And Repaired…”
My repaired urn and some pictures of the rest of the Christmas decor….
The skates aren’t real! They are made from a resin and have faux fur on the tops…
These are 4 glass blocks filled with mini lights and wrapped with sparkley ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by, and I want to wish you and yours, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!
Hope you get what you asked Santa for……
