Had a wonderful Thanks-giving with family…hope you did too!
Now, it’s time to think about HALLOWEEN and SPOOKY decorating.
I wanted to have a “TRUE” Halloween wreath for my front door, and wanted to make something fitting, myself…..so I ventured to the local Dollar Store to peruse items they had. (I already had a SKELETON COUPLE that was previously purchased at a garage sale that I wanted to incorporatate into my DIY project). I found a large wire spider web, with a spider, that would work wonderfully as my wreath base. Burlap wired ribbon, (actually from Walmart), and shimmering gauze ribbons with spiders and spider webs printed on them. I also already had a ribbed black bow on hand that I thought could also be placed somewhere on the wreath….
SUPPLIES FOR THE DIY WREATH
MY ALREADY PURCHASED SKELETON COUPLE
(I only paid $5.00 for the pair, but have seen them for $20.00 for each one). They measure 20” long and all the joints move…
THE WIRE WREATH WITH SPIDER ALREADY ATTACHED
I started out by wrapping the Burlap ribbon through the edge of the wreath, leaving it puffy, instead of pulling it tight.
I did the same with the purple gauze material, layering it with the Burlap.
I only covered one half of the wreath, so that the spider and the web would be fully seen. I had a tail of the purple gauze left at the bottom of the wreath, but left it there and cut it into jagged strips behind the skeleton couple….
FINISHED DIY WREATH
LOVE PURPLE AND BLACK TOGETHER
So, it’s time to go through your tickle trunks, or costume supply stores, or thrift shops to find that perfect costume…You can be what ever you want to be! The sky’s the limit!
Have a great time shopping and searching…..Until next time, Judy
